The Research and Applied AI Summit (RAAIS) is a community for entrepreneurs and researchers who accelerate the science and applications of AI technology. In the run up to our 9th annual event on June 13th 2025 in London, we’re running a series of speaker profiles to shed more light on what you can expect to learn on the day!
At RAAIS we have a focus on translating cutting edge technology and research into production-grade products for real-world problems.
Max Jaderberg is the Chief AI Officer of Isomorphic Labs, an Alphabet company that is reimagining drug discovery with an AI-first approach. Since its launch, Isomorphic has struck partnerships worth up to $2.9B with Eli Lilly and Novartis, while its research team collaborated closely with Google DeepMind on AlphaFold 3.
Before joining Isomorphic, Max was a senior research scientist at Google DeepMind. Max joined DeepMind in 2014 after it acquired Vision Factory, the visual search and recognition start-up he founded earlier that year while a PhD student at Oxford.
At DeepMind, Max led the open-ended learning team, which focused on the intersection of deep learning, reinforcement learning, evolutionary methods, simulated environments, and game theory. He was a core contributor on a number of the company’s most high-profile research projects, including AlphaStar (published in Nature), Capture-the-Flag (published in Science), while his work on population based training has been deployed by Waymo.
