Adam Satariano (New York Times) to speak at RAAIS 2025
On Europe's defense and security strategy.
The Research and Applied AI Summit (RAAIS) is a community for entrepreneurs and researchers who accelerate the science and applications of AI technology. In the run up to our 9th annual event on June 13th 2025 in London, we’re running a series of speaker profiles to shed more light on what you can expect to learn on the day!
At RAAIS we have a focus on translating cutting edge technology and research into amazing products for real-world problems.
Adam is a technology correspondent for The New York Times based in London, focused mainly on the intersection of tech and world affairs. Adam began covering technology 15 years ago in San Francisco with Bloomberg News, before joining the London bureau of The Times in 2018.
At The New York Times, Adam has become a leading voice in examining how emerging technologies—particularly artificial intelligence—are reshaping global power structures, public policy, and civil liberties. His reporting often explores the ways governments and corporations deploy advanced technologies, from surveillance systems to algorithmic decision-making, and the consequences these tools have for privacy, democracy, and society at large.
With deep experience covering both Silicon Valley and Europe's regulatory landscape, Adam brings a unique transatlantic perspective to today’s most urgent tech debates. His investigative work has illuminated complex issues such as facial recognition in policing, data sovereignty, and the ethical challenges posed by AI at scale.
At RAAIS 2025, Adam will share insights from his frontline reporting on how AI is influencing global affairs, and what technologists, business leaders, and policymakers need to understand about the narratives shaping public trust and accountability in the age of intelligent systems.
