We’re about to set off to bring Air Street AI meetups to Berlin on Thursday 20th Feb, Munich on Tuesday 25th Feb and Zurich on the 4th March. We focus these events on a) best practices that entrepreneurs and researchers can learn from and b) attracting the very best contributors and heavily curating event attendance to make sure that everyone makes high-value connections. Each event will host circa 100 people and to facilitate connections we share the list of attendees ahead of time so you’re able to get a head start on meeting those you want to connect with. You’ll also get access to our 350+ strong Air Street Community on Slack, which hosts members from across all of our global city meetups, so you can keep in touch with folks.
🇩🇪 Berlin
In Berlin (event page) we’ll have an industrial and biotech flavor to the event.
Sensmore are bringing end-to-end autonomy to massive off-road vehicles in harsh environments such as mines. Bjarne is co-founder and CTO, so he’ll dive into the technical nuances of shipping autonomy in this domain.
Dunia works is advancing materials science with AI approaches, using a closed loop wet lab + software approach. Alexander is co-founder and CEO.
Slav is VP Research at Google DeepMind and is co-lead of Gemini. Expect to hear the latest from this massive effort that’s moving at warp speed.
Sona is President, AI, at Pangea Bio, a biotech that’s discovering and developing medicines from natural sources. This is a fascinating area of medicine, which draws its roots in how drugs were originally sourced, albeit this time with far more empiricism.
🇩🇪 Munich
Hot off the heels of the Munich Security Conference, our Munich meetup (event page) will of course feature new European defense company Helsing, portfolio companies Interloom and Sereact, as well as process intelligence company, Celonis.
Cedric is Director of AI at Helsing, where he leads the R&D teams developing Helsing's AI perception capabilities and foundational AI. He also oversees AI quality assurance and data sourcing.
Fabian is co-founder/CEO of Interloom, a process automation company that captures enterprise memory to unlock next-generation capabilities that traditional automation solutions cannot solve.
Marc is co-founder/CTO of Sereact, an embodied intelligence company focusing on equipping manufacturing, logistics, and other industrial companies with robotic automation systems. They’ve recently closed a €25M Series A.
Frederik is AI product manager at Celonis, which has pioneered the field of enterprise process mining, a key step that unlocks process automation. He’ll dive into how they discover a myriad of use cases for agent-driven automation.
🇨🇭 Zurich
We’re hosting our AI meetup in Zurich (event page) for the first time! The city has long been a strong engineering hub for many US tech giants (Google, Meta, Niantic, etc), the outstanding ETHZ and now with the opening of OpenAI and Anthropic, things are heating up. This one will be fun as we’ve been long-time friends with everyone speaking :-)
Lucas is a founding Member of Technical Staff OpenAI’s new Zurich office. Lucas was previously a Staff Research Scientist at Google DeepMind in Zurich, where he co-led multimodal vision-language research efforts.
Peter is Research Director at Meta and has made important contributions to the field of computer vision. He was previously leading research at Mapillary, which was one of the first companies I invested in 2015. The company was ultimately acquired by Meta.
Philippe runs a lab at EPFL focusing on AI for chemistry, a field that he has been driving since his PhD. He is known for work on teaching language models to speak chemistry - from design to synthesis.
Stef spent many years at Google across product and AI. He then went on to found Crade, which brings SOTA protein engineering methods into the hands of biologists in industry and pharma.
Excited to catch some of you on the road!
