NVIDIA announced this week that it will invest in and support UK-based AI startups with a mix of capital, compute, and technical expertise. This builds on its role as the critical enabler of the global AI industry, which we’ve showcased in depth since 2018 in our State of AI Reports, as the demand for GPUs reaches new heights from researchers, startups, enterprises, and governments alike.
This partnership reflects the conviction that Air Street Capital and NVIDIA both share: the UK has what it takes to produce generational AI-first companies, provided founders can access world-class compute infrastructure and communities. In my 10+ year career investing in AI, I’ve backed many leading UK AI companies including ElevenLabs, Synthesia, Wayve, PolyAI, V7 Labs, Fern Labs, and Thought Machine. Alongside these investments, I’ve built communities like London.AI and the Research and Applied AI Summit, where the best in AI come together to share learnings and ideas to advance research and products.
