The Research and Applied AI Summit (RAAIS) is a community for entrepreneurs and researchers who accelerate the science and applications of AI technology. In the run up to our 8th annual event on June 14th 2024 in London, we’re running a series of speaker profiles to shed more light on what you can expect to learn on the day!
At RAAIS we have a focus on translating cutting edge technology and research into production-grade products for real-world problems.
Jared Palmer leads the AI team at Vercel, the frontend cloud platform. Founded in 2015, Vercel allows developers to deploy and run the frontend of their web applications, separately from the backend. It provides developers with features like rapid deploy previews, serverless functions, and analytics, along with supporting services like storage and databases.
By abstracting away infrastructure management, Vercel enables developers to focus on building engaging user-facing experiences and getting them online quickly. As a result, their platform is used across the AI stack, including by Notion, Cohere, Perplexity, Runway, and Scale. Jared’s team at Vercel have also created a popular software development kit for AI-powered user interfaces, while Jared created v0, a tool for generating UI with text prompts.
Jared joined Vercel after it acquired Turnorepo, the company he founded in 2020. Turborepo provided a high-performance build system for JavaScript and TypeScript monorepos and has since been integrated into the Vercel product offering. He was previously a lead engineer at the Palmer Group, which partnered with Fortune 500 companies on strategy, data science, and AI.
