Astute readers will have observed a service interruption since mid-August...but fear not as I'm excited to bring you the State of AI Report 2022, which we released just last week.

Director's cut: Here is my director's cut (Twitter thread)

It has now been five years that we've compiled, analysed and distilled the most important work in AI research, industry, safety (new section!), and politics over the last 12 months to inform conversation about the state of AI. This product is our contribution to the AI ecosystem and is therefore open-access (and hopefully accessible) to all. Huge thanks to Othmane Sebbouh who joined us for a second year running and to Nitarshan Rajkumar for his first tour of duty :-)
