Max Jaderberg is Chief AI Officer at Isomorphic Labs, he leads the research and application of machine learning for drug discovery, including the latest AlphaFold model. He has led breakthrough research in algorithms and methods using machine learning across multiple application domains.
Since its launch, Isomorphic has struck partnerships worth up to $2.9B with Eli Lilly and Novartis, while its research team collaborated closely with Google DeepMind on AlphaFold 3.
Before joining Isomorphic, Max was a senior research scientist at Google DeepMind. Max joined DeepMind in 2014 after it acquired Vision Factory, the visual search and recognition start-up he founded earlier that year while a PhD student at Oxford.
At DeepMind, Max led the open-ended learning team, which focused on the intersection of deep learning, reinforcement learning, evolutionary methods, simulated environments, and game theory. He was a core contributor on a number of the company’s most high-profile research projects, including AlphaStar (published in Nature), Capture-the-Flag (published in Science), while his work on population based training has been deployed by Waymo.
