Last week, we announced the return of RAAIS Fellowships, which provide cash and compute credits for open source AI-first research. We’ve started to receive our first applications and we’re impressed by the quality of the teams and their ambition.
We’re delighted that Modal, the popular provider of high-performance AI infrastructure, has joined us in support of the fellowship. Alongside the $5,000 of Lambda GPU compute credits, successful applicants will each receive a further $10,000 of credits to use on Modal’s platform.
The purpose of the RAAIS Fellowship is to broaden participation in AI research. Access to compute is one of the main reasons that top-tier research is so concentrated in a handful of institutions, so we’re very grateful for our partners.
