"Static-signature and rules-based vendors face an existential crisis: their moats are being outpaced by an offensive AI loop that renders legacy detection obsolete."

Rule-based detections on "indicators" was already relatively obsolete, but also existing solutions in XDR and intelligent managed security already addresses threats at the level of attack pathways.

This also doesn't mean that rule-based and expert knowledge are entirely useless for security. There are specific applications for people doing threat research, detection, or response/cleanup that may be relevant.

Spot on regarding the Microsoft/Browserbase verifier paper. The >45% false-positive rate on existing computer-use-agent verifiers isn't just a calibration issue, it's structural. Outcome-based scoring can't derive why a trajectory was correct from the outcome alone, and a verifier without a derivability backbone is going to be incredibly noisy. Really glad you highlighted this bottleneck, because reliable agent training is dead in the water without a fix for it.
